Junior Women

Welcome to

The Cranford Junior Women's Club

Who We Are

The Cranford Junior Woman's Club was organized in 1949 and became a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs in 1950. We are a community service organization dedicated to the enhancement of our community and its residents. Our purpose is "to support, give aid and promote public improvement for the benefit our township and state." Membership is open to all women over the age of 18, living in the Cranford area.

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 p.m. at the Hansen House, 38 Springfield Ave., Cranford.

What We Do

During the last club year, the GFWC Cranford Junior Woman's Club members donated almost 10,000 volunteer hours and fund raised over $11,000 which was used for contributions to local charities and scholarships. Some of the Club's community service projects include:

  • Home for the Holidays House Tour
  • Doll House Raffle
  • Township Blood Drive
  • Town & District Spelling Bees
  • Toys-For-Tots Distribution
  • Gift & Clothing Donated to Cranford Family Care
  • High School Scholarship
  • Merchant Appreciation Project
  • Lunch With A Children's Book Author
  • Foodbank Library Food Drive
  • Town & River Cleanup
  • . . .just to name a few!

Benefits of Membership

Cranford Junior Woman's Club members are involved in many worthwhile projects, but we also enjoy socializing with fellow members and our families. The Progressive Dinner, Holiday Party, Ornament Swap, Cookie Exchange, Children's Halloween Party and Dessert With Santa are just a few examples of the get-togethers which enable our members to get to know each other and develop solid, long term friendships.

We are a diverse group - some of us are single, some married, some have children, some work full-time outside and inside the home. We are women just like you - generous, caring and talented - who share our skills for the common goal of enhancing the quality of life in our community.
