A Carriage House on the River
This striking frame and concrete-block house can be seen from the North Union Avenue bridge. Built in the early 1900's, it is one of only two local structures built directly into the river. Local tradition maintains that the building once had a dock and was the scene of gala River Carnival parties years ago.

The Sanderson House
Facing Crane's Ford, this spacious home was built in 1894 by Harry Sanderson. Family descendants lived in the house until 1968. A carriage house (now a garage) behind this home was built for an earlier house on the site that was destroyed by fire. The former carriage house served as the Blue Bird Tea House and Dance Studio in the 1920's.
